What We Don’t Take

Our Commitment to Safety, Compliance, and Responsible Disposal

At Junko Hauling, our mission is to make junk removal as easy and stress-free as possible. While we can handle most of your unwanted items, we cannot remove certain materials and products due to safety, environmental regulations, or specialized disposal requirements. Below you’ll find clear guidelines on what we can’t take—and why.

Household Items We Cannot Take

Some household items, although common, require special handling and can’t be collected by our team. For your safety, the safety of our crew, and to comply with local regulations, we do not accept:

  • Hazardous Household Materials

    • Paint cans, solvents, and cleaning chemicals: These can be flammable or toxic and must be processed through hazardous waste facilities.
    • Pool chemicals and pesticides: Pose risks to people, pets, and the environment.
    • Automotive fluids and batteries: Require specialized recycling or disposal due to their potential for leaks and contamination.

  • Medical Waste

    • Needles, syringes, and lancets: Classified as biohazardous and must be handled by certified medical waste services to prevent health risks.

  • Certain Large Construction Materials

    • Concrete rubble, bricks, large amounts of drywall or tile, and roofing shingles: These materials are heavy, often require specific disposal equipment, and are best handled by construction debris specialists.

  • Flammable or Pressurized Items

    • Propane tanks, fire extinguishers, gasoline cans, and similar substances: These items are explosive or combustible and require special handling for safety.

  • Other Restricted Household Items

    • Asbestos-containing materials: Extremely hazardous and must be handled by licensed abatement professionals.
    • Tires: Require specialized recycling due to their composition and environmental impact.
    • Ammunition, fireworks, or illegal items: These are dangerous or prohibited by law.

Yard Waste We Cannot Take

While we’re happy to remove most green waste and typical yard debris, certain outdoor materials are restricted for safety or environmental reasons:

  • Hazardous or Restricted Items

    • Pesticides, fertilizers, or chemicals: These can contaminate soil and water and must be handled by hazardous waste facilities.
    • Paint, solvents, or treated lumber: Treated wood and chemicals require special disposal to prevent environmental harm.
    • Gasoline, oils, or automotive fluids: Highly flammable and pollutant, these must be processed separately.

  • Heavy or Bulky Materials

    • Large tree trunks, stumps, or root balls: Too heavy for safe manual removal—contact a tree service or landscaping company for these.
    • Concrete, bricks, rocks, gravel, or pavers: Require heavy machinery and specific recycling protocols.
    • Dirt or soil in large/unmanageable quantities: Often regulated due to potential contamination and weight.

  • Other Restricted Yard Items

    • Large tree trunks, stumps, or root balls: Too heavy for safe manual removal—contact a tree service or landscaping company for these.

E-Waste We Cannot Take

We’re committed to responsible electronic waste disposal, but some items are outside our scope due to hazardous contents or size.

  • Hazardous Electronic Items

    • Loose or leaking batteries (car, lithium-ion, etc.): These can be dangerous if damaged or improperly handled; take them to a certified battery recycler.
    • Items containing hazardous chemicals: These include mercury thermometers or fluorescent light tubes, which require special disposal.
    • Smoke detectors or radioactive items: These need specialized processing due to their hazardous components.

  • Large Commercial Equipment

    • Industrial printers or copiers: Often too large and require dismantling by specialized recyclers.
    • Large server racks or enterprise data equipment: Typically managed by IT asset disposition companies.

  • Other Restricted Items

    • Medical devices with biohazard risk: These require medical waste disposal.
    • Illegal or unsafe items: For your safety and ours, we cannot transport or dispose of anything prohibited by law or deemed unsafe for handling.
